To face the problem of global food shortage by looking into waste valorization. Through our project, we hope to gain more insights and knowledge to help us better tackle global food shortage. Ultimately, creating food products that are environmentally and economically sustainable.
We believe that plant-based eating is the future. It is sustainable, healthy, and animal-friendly (Sabaté & Soret, 2014). We want to make it easier to start eating a healthy plant-based diet by providing personalized and complete information. In the long-term, we hope to enable people to make more plant-based choices.
ProMeat's vision is to facilitate a shift from unsustainable proteins to sustainable smart protein and address the issues like Shortage of Food & Malnutrition, Environmental Degradation, Food Insecurity, Human Health, Animal Welfare, Protein Deficiency (80% of Indians suffer from this) 85% of Indians don’t know the key benefits of protein and many cannot identify the true benefits of the macronutrient.

The Waste Wheel
The Waste Wheel aims to remove Protein deficiency by providing an alternate, cheaper Plant-based source of protein that can be consumed by the masses.

Aquatic products are an important source of our diet, and a large number of fish skin, scales and bones are directly discarded during processing, which are rich in protein and calcium. Therefore, we want to make use of them through new processing methods. In the premise of reducing costs, we should provide new protein sources for people, hoping to contribute to solving the problem of food shortage.

There are many challenges to provide food for the population in 2050. The overall current production should be enough, however, not all of them are feeding because of demand deviation due to commerce, short assortment, and availability of products. ProtenIA shall increase the availability of protein without relying on the increase of agricultural production of protein, reducing food waste, carbon footprint, creating a self-sustainable future.
Currently, over 800M haven’t the luxury of a-meal-a-day; by 2050, it will be 1.1B. Immediate paradigm shifts are needed in both the production and supply chain in the food industry. The average human requires ~50-60g protein per day. Today’s best crops yield only ~500Kg/ha/year; higher yield and better supply are vital. Algae is the solution, through unbelievable yields coupled with our business model, which advocates responsible capitalism.
In our projet we intend to extract protein from microalagae to use in plant based products. Also, it would be use as a supplement for people who needs improve protein consumnption.
In long term we hope to have a protein with some essential amino acids , colorless and odorless and coul be used as a based or a complement to food.
