Our vision

Insects are rich in high-quality complete protein. Our team is committed to developing the unique value of insects in protein supply, and on this basis, exploring new types of insect food, and driving the ecological development of industries centered on high-protein insects. We hope that through our efforts, insect protein can enter people's lives more and reduce the environmental pressure caused by traditional protein production.

Our solution

We expect to address the issue of global sustainable protein supply through the development of insect protein, presenting a possibility to address global human nutritional needs. Insects have the advantage of being low carbon and space saving. As the initiator of this project, we will develop a deeper understanding of the potential insects, create appropriate insect protein supply solutions for different regions and groups, and at the same time promote the acceptance of insect protein through appropriate communication methods, and on this basis promote the development of related research and food processing industries.

Our market

Developing regions (such as Africa): There is a large demand for protein. People there have the tradition of eating insects, but lack the ability to scientifically discover the value of protein. The relatively inexpensive crudely-processed insect food market has great potential. Developed regions (such as Europe): There are abundant sources of protein, and meat and eggs are traditional sources of protein. In addition to relying on the advantages of insect products, the competitive advantage of insect products also requires modern technology to improve quality, product design innovation and marketing methods to increase people's acceptance of insect food.

About the team

The team members are from the School of Economics and Management, the School of Life Science and Technology, the School of Plant Science and Technology, and the School of Science of Huazhong Agricultural University. We hope to solve the problem of protein supply by proposing an insect-based business model, exchange ideas with young people and scholars around the world who are concerned about protein, and improve our capabilities.
